Requirements to become a Driving Instructor
First you will need to make sure you fit the criteria set by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA)

You must have held a full UK or EU licence for 4 out of the last 6 years |
|
You have to be able to read a normal size number plate from 27.5 metres (90 ft) |
|
You must have less than 6 penalty points on your driving licence |
|
You must not have been disqualified from driving at any time in the last 4 years |
|
You need to be a fit and proper person in the opinion of the DSA, from spring 2007 you will need to have an enhanced level Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) check |
